Looking at this one specifically. All I need is some automotive soap and I’m good to go right? Or do I need to buy a foam cannon attachment as well?

I almost always use a pressure washer and use my snow foam lance in almost every case too.

I have used an electric pressure washer for all my cars over the last ~10 years. Just be careful to pick a less traumatic/abrasive nozzle. I also do not use the pre-mix soap option, still using the two bucket method.

This is the one I had and that OpposResidentToyotaGuy now has. Worked quite well! Came with a foam cannon attachment too

I prefered to get a separate foam cannon attachment as I felt the nozzle and spray pattern was better. Plus it was easier to clean out and didn’t contaminate any other part of the system as it was at the end of the wand.

I have one. I’d get a foam cannon, yeah. Don’t cheap out on it too much either. Mine broke the first time I used it and then never bothered to replace it.
That one looks stronger than the one I got.
He re’s the one I bought well over a year ago. It’s been pretty reliable. I’ve used it to clean the truck multiple times, clean the cement driveway, and clean/strip the back deck. I like that it uses standard pressure washer fittings, so I can use whatever attachments I want.

This one tested best for entry level pressure washers in the detailing group I’m in. Definitely get a foam cannon with it. My favorite choice of soap is currently Adams Detailing soap.

We bought one for around the house and I planned to use it for car washes.. but it was a super basic one and either it was broken out of the box or our house water pressure was too low - it never functioned properly and ended up going back to the store for a refund.
Looking around now I’m tempted by the Snow Blaster that fits on a garden hose..

Power washers are the best tool for cleanup around the house. I do have a separate soap dispenser on mine, and it works OK. Power washing my car really doesn’t clean it, so much as just removes bugs and road grime without so much scrubbing. Still have to get the brush out and get the dirt off the old fashioned way.

I used one briefly, but went back to the bucket method. Couldn’t get all the dirt off without using a fairly aggressive nozzle most of the time (the kind that will fling off mildly failing clear coat in seconds)

As some others have said, for washing the car...they’re okay. Certainly they work well, but scrubbing with a sponge works better. If you need a power washer for the house, sure use it on the car, but don’t buy one just for the car.
I also have a super powerful gas one. It’s annoying to set up and takes ~ten minutes of fussing. Plus the nozzles either do nothing or take the paint off, no in between. A less powerful electric power washer might be less annoying.
